The Spirit of Thanksgiving

Things have been pretty crazy lately.  It seems if it could go wrong it has.  I have really tried to look at it differently though.  It is so easy to let every little thing get you down, especially when it feels like it is pushing off the thing you want most.  I have really been trying to change my perspective of it.  I feel like people often misinterpret me telling them what is going on with us as something different.  I am a very honest and blunt person.  I will always say it how it is, but that doesn't mean it is something that necessarily weighs me down.  I have been trying to change the ways I present things to people, but I am not super good at it.  What I would like people to know is I am very grateful for the things around me.  I always try to remind myself that it could be worse and I have so much to be grateful for.  I also remind myself that Heavenly Father has a purpose for all of us and he will do what makes us happy, which almost always includes some bumps in the road.  I know that having gratitude in our hearts makes that road feel less bumpy and can help those around us.

Some things I am grateful for:

One of the biggest things I am so grateful for lately is modern medicine.  I seem to get to go to the doctor quite a bit.  I will forever be grateful to the doctors I have had that have truly cared and helped me along the way.  To them, they may simply be doing their job.  To me, they are heaven sent angels.  If it wasn't for them and their knowledge we wouldn't get the chance to try to have more children.  I also wouldn't be as healthy as I am today.  To some I sound like a train wreck, but really I am far above where I have been and could be.  I may have little health challenges sneak up, but they are all quite manageable or easy to fix.

The other thing I am very grateful for is my boys.  Zach is so patient, even when I am being crazy.  He does so much for our little family and I couldn't ask for a better husband.  My little angel is also always there.  He makes me smile all of the time.  I can't really talk about him without smiling.  He is our miracle!

I am also very grateful for supportive family and friends.  I have been blessed with earthly angels that check in on my from time to time to see how I am.  I don't think they can ever realize how much it means to me.  It never ceases to amaze me that one of them is right there when I need them.
